Game Theory and Structure
This game is a board-game system consisting of a game board, a certain amount of money distributed among groups based on their role and position, and a set of defined rules. The game board represents a fictional city in which seven groups, representing urban stakeholders and residents, participate. These groups include:
– Three groups representing citizens in low-, middle-, and high-income social classes.
– Landowners who own vacant urban and suburban land.
– NGOs representing social activists.
– Merchants representing urban capital holders.
– Municipality representing the government.

This fictional city includes a commercial center, deteriorated urban fabric, social landmarks, informal settlements, transportation networks, green spaces, parks, facilities, and services, with populations distributed at different densities. Each group begins the game with a set of land parcels randomly placed on the city map. Through trading land and money with other groups, each team pursues its hidden objectives revealed before the game starts (simulating a land market system). Therefore, in addition to general city rules, each group follows a hidden agenda that guides its decision-making.
Functions of the Interactive City Game
This game is highly flexible and can be used as an educational tool in schools and universities, a promotional tool in cultural centers and urban neighborhoods, or a decision-making tool in managerial and executive organizations such as municipalities. Beyond education, it can simulate and evaluate policy decisions in real-world conditions, as demonstrated in its implementation for city managers in Tehran Municipality. Another key function of this innovative game is training participants to understand the interests of different urban groups, think operationally about conflicts of interest, and design solutions through collective action and participation.
– Interaction
– Dialogue and collective action
– An opportunity to rethink values and urban decision-making processes in the form of a win-based game

In a world full of conflicting interests, making the right decision is not easy. This game provides an opportunity to understand the real consequences and impacts of our actions when facing conflicts of interest with other groups in a realistic simulation. If you want to test your managerial and planning skills in a real challenge or improve your ability to design solutions, participating in this game is an ideal opportunity.
